Description

One of not only Germany’s most revered estates, but amongst the very best Riesling estates globally. Based in Flörsheim-Dalsheim in Rheinhessen and family-owned since 1789, led by Klaus-Peter Keller, the winery is famed for profoundly mineral, dry Rieslings from limestone-rich grand cru sites such as Morstein and Kirchspiel, produced with low yields and minimal intervention to express terroir with precision and longevity.

Keller’s wines are often compared to those of Burgundy, with Jancis Robinson, going so far as to call them “the German Montrachet.” Grape varieties aside, the comparison is apt whether describing the gently sloping, east facing hills, or Keller’s monk-like obsession with understanding every nuance of his vineyards. But it’s the limestone in those vineyards that really fuses the connection and sets the wines apart from the rest of Germany.

These are wines that truly deserve a place in any collector’s cellar.
