Description
Born and raised in Gippsland, William has been making wine for more than 20 years. The William Downie wines are made from both estate vineyards in Gippsland and purchased fruit from growers around Victoria. The estate vineyards total 6.5ha across 3 sites including William and his wife Rachel’s home, Guendulain Farm. This property includes vineyard, orchard, vegetable garden and native forest as well as a micro-dairy for artisan cheese production.
The William Downie wines are an attempt to tell a story of place and time through agriculture and craft. They are also, and perhaps more importantly, intended to make people happy, to enhance a meal and to encourage conversation and sharing.
