Description

The Chapuis brothers Romain and Guillaume own a very small winery in the heart of Pommard, Burgundy. After working with Philippe Pacalet, one of the leading producers of the natural wine movement in Burgundy, they launched their own estate in 2009. The duo work with a number of growers to complement their fruit sources in an organic fashion. Their Coteaux Bourguignons Rosé is sourced from 2 plots in Couchois located in the south of the Côte de Beaune, with its oldest vines being 65 years old.

Grown over four départements across Burgundy, the appellation Coteaux Bourguignons was created in 2011 and covers red, white, and rosé wines. It acts as an umbrella term for some of the satellite regions within Burgundy.

Their Coteaux Bourguignons Rosé is handled very gently in the winery; a direct maceration results in the most delicate colour. It then spends 6 months in old barrels.  A small amount of sulphur has been added to the wine to retain its purity and youthful fruit character. A total of only 6 barrels was produced for this cuvée, making it incredibly sought after by those aware of the quality of wines by Romain and Guillaume.
