Description
Lilian Duplessis continues on the work of his father Gerard, as the fifth generation of the family estate, which dates way back to 1895. Since assuming his role as head of the estate in 1999, Lilian has turned the estate to organic viticulture; it is now certified by EcoCert—a rarity in Chablis! The 8 hectare estate is entirely within Chablis and Petit Chablis AOCs, with majority of their holdings in Premier Cru sites.
Wines are handled with patience and allowed to mature for as long as required before being released to the market. For instance, the Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines are bottled after a second winter, only when Lilian feels they are truly coming together. They adopt a tailored approach with each individual terroir and the resulting wines are treated differently in the cellars with the elevage. It is precisely this relentless prioritising of quality that has earned Duplessis a loyal cult following.
The wines express the hallmarks of great and classic Chablis, showcasing a deep mineral expression with the individuality of site shining through.
